This mural was painted as part of the 2018 Murals and Milestones event. The mural was designed by Andy Goretski, and painted by Andy and Walldogs artists.

This mural was painted as part of the 2018 Murals and Milestones event. The mural was designed by Diaz Sign Art and painted by Walldogs artists.

Heritage Park Mural

222 E. Main St.

Dedicated in 2017, the Heritage Park Mural is the largest mural in Streator. This piece of art stands three-stories tall. Lead by Westclox Studios, this mural took a sad wall and made it look incredible. The piece is backlit to make it look like lights are on in the building at night, thanks to donors and the assistance of NCI ARTworks.

American Heroes Mural

Southeast Corner of Streator City Park

The Veterans Mural was completed in 2014 by Gene Davis, with the help of Lynne Hayden. The mural features a soldier from every American conflict.

Clyde Tombaugh Mural

311 E. Main Street

This mural was created by artist John Betken. This work was commissioned in 2008 by the Streatorland Historical Society.

A-1 Gas Mural

124 S. Park Street

This mural was painted by local artist Curt Bedei in 2008.  It depicts a gas station and classic cars. The mural is 1000 square feet.

Veteran Murals

218 W. Main Street

Completed in 2020 by local artist, Gene Davis, two murals are on the front of the American Legion.

Streator Library Murals

130 S. Park Street

In September 2023, the library celebrated the completion of its mural restoration.  The murals in the rotunda were completed in 1905 by Gustav Fuchs. After a fire in 1945, the murals were covered with soot. Parma Restoration removed the soot, and restored the paintings. Now, they are vibrant and bright. 

Pluto Monument

1901 N Bloomington Street

The Pluto monument stands at Anderson Golf Course in Streator. Pluto is near and dear to the hearts of Streatorites. Streator is the birthplace and boyhood home of Clyde Tombaugh, the person who discovered Pluto in 1930 while working at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona.   During the New Horizons mission, a heart shaped area was photographed and has officially named the "Tombaugh Reggio." The 9-hole golf course continues with the astronomy theme, with each hole named after Pluto. This was designed by Luke Walker and built at Streator Dependable.

WWII Canteen Monument

212 North Illinois Street

The WWII Canteen Monument honors the spirit of Streator's WWII Canteen. The canteen opened on Nov. 26, 1943. During World War II, many of the troop trains came through the Streator Santa Fe station. Local citizens organized the Track side Streator Free Canteen, one of hundreds of canteen across the country, to provide fresh food and drinks free to the service people when their train stopped in Streator.  The monument was dedicated on Veterans Day Nov 11, 2006.

Reuben Soderstrom Statue

300 block of North Park, City Park

Statue honoring Reuben Soderstrom, Labor Leader. As President of the Illinois State Federation of Labor and the Illinois AFL-CIO from 1930 to 1970--receiving a gavel for every year of his leadership--Soderstrom led one of the nation’s largest labor organizations through the most challenging, exciting, and impactful events of the twentieth century. Sculptor Lonnie Stewart created this piece of art. The plaza is designed by Robert W. Soderstrom and Carl Soderstrom, MD, with landscaping by Jeff Bergfeld.

Colonel Plumb

200 Block of North Park Street, City Park

Located in the city park, this monument features Col. Ralph Plumb, our first mayor. It is fitting that this monument stands to him a park that he helped create. This work was sculpted in 2004 by Marlene Miller.

Corten Sculpture

Corten steel sculpture. On Loan by artist Don Noon. This artwork is on the former site of the Lipton Tea Lot.

Mohawk Sculpture

Corten steel sculpture that reflects Native American culture through the use of amorphous shapes. This work is on loan to the City by Streator Artist Don Noon.

"Ra" Sculpture

1669 Marilla Park Road

Corten and stainless steel sculpture. "Ra, the Sun God" The shiny disk is meant to reflect the sun. This sculpture is on loan to the City at no cost from artist Don Noon.

"North Star" Sculpture

Corten and stainless steel sculpture placed in Marilla Park in 2023. This piece is the second in the series.  This sculpture is on loan to the City at no cost from artist Don Noon.

"Dance of Spring" Sculpture

1669 Marilla Park Road

Created in 2024 by local artist Don Noon, "Dance of Spring" is the third in this series at Marilla Park. It is created out of Corten and Stainless Steel and stands 10 feet tall. This sculpture is on loan to the City at no cost.

SHS Class Sculptures

Every year, the SHS weld students create a sculpture to represent their class. 

Don's Furniture Facade

This features artwork on the second floor and stairways. The art is by Westclox Studios, Inc. 

Sports Murals

Murals created by John Betken. The murals feature local sports legends. The pieces are outside of Legacy Sports Bar. 

Gaetano's Art

200 E. Main Street

Gaetano's features art in the courtyard, the facade of the building, and a mural inside. Created by Ray Paseka of Westclox Studios, Inc., a hand-painted mural depicting a scene from the notorious robbery of 1932 sits inside.

Gayle's Monroe Tap Murals

110 N. Monroe Street

The south side of the building has artwork by Westclox Studios, Inc. The mural features a bar maid, and there are hand-painted window panels.
